Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to decrease the frequency at which you need to manually vacuum. Find one that has excellent navigation, is able to sweep corners and stairs and also has a large dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.
There are also models that mop and charge on their own This feature could be essential for those who have children or pets. A majority of the top performers in our tests have great obstacles to avoid.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually as it gets full.
Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that help the i3+ navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends clearing areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any clutter or toys it might encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes around three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot i7+ Roomba
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or by voice.
In our tests the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin, which removes a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room and vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected to these services, we were able communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of vacuums with cords that look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an automobile. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households, but it also fits nicely on a coffee table or on shelves that you can spin around like an enchanted device.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that produces power without fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases fresh air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It swiftly switches from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.
The model also comes with a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments and a Wand clip. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons models, that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. The claims of its marketing that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are not true, as CR's testing shows. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time to run an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. It's enough time to clean a typical-sized home but not enough to get into every corner. (A second pass generally works). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a great choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach the corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects because it has fewer components that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most reasons, since it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode on its own, comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a greater variety of automation options.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.
The app provides plenty of options to customize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is easy to learn and use, just like other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. budget robot vacuum was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.
The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature allows you to check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be washed for quick, painless cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ also has a clean station that self-empties and helps keep the robot's dustbin clean and optimizes suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. The robots come with an extra-wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2 times larger than other models. This allows them to clean the area for a longer period of time. They also come with two side sweepers that can be used to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense that automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's picking up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. The vacuum also comes with an app that lets users to see a virtual map, control functions, and schedules. You can also monitor the vacuum's battery status and then return it to its dock to charge by pressing the button. The app lets you customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.
The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug for example, has a darkly-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however was able to continue to move across the border without registering the high point. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
